Forum Rules
Here I've set forth some basic rules for posting on the forum. Please take the time to read them before posting. As the purpose of this forum is to help computer users to troubleshoot their computer problems, and I understand that not everyone is used to posting on a forum, I will show some leniency to new users to a reasonable extent. Such as I won't punish a new user for posting in the wrong forum. However, some things will be punished no matter how new a user is. Such as posting pornographic material or spam, as it's simply common sense that you should not do such things on this forum.
Veteran users of the forum will be held strictly to these rules. Veteran users will be expected to know and adhere to these rules.
1. Do not spam this forum. If you wish to discuss something unrelated to helping users troubleshoot their computers, please post in the open discussion forum. Please do not post unrelated information in forums or topics in which troubleshooting help is being requested or provided. If you do not have anything relevant to add to the discussion, then obviously you should not post there.
2. Do not post pornographic or illegal content on this site. This includes material which is in violation of copyright laws. While "hacks" in the definition of the term as unlocking new features in technological devices is permitted, Hacking in the definition of breaking into computer systems or networks which do not belong to you will not be discussed on this forum.
3. Please try to post in the correct forum and topic. Other members are more likely to help you if you've posted in the correct forum and topic. This is important due to the purpose of a forum. Not only are you posting and getting help with your problem, but later on, when another user has a similar problem, they may find your old posts and the solutions provided useful for fixing their own problem. It will be easier for users to find this information if it is organized.
4. Remember that it is better to post in an existing topic rather than to create a new one. The reasoning behind this is again for neatness and organization. If a topic already exists that is addressing a problem similar to the problem you are experiencing, it is better to post in that same topic, than to start a new topic for the same or a similar problem. If you cannot find a topic that addresses the problem you are experiencing, or a similar problem, then feel free to create a new topic.
5. Please use the search function before posting your problem. It is possible (especially as the forums get older) that the problem you are experiencing have been addressed in the past on the forum. Try searching a few keywords before posting your issue. Such as if your mouse isn't working, try searching the term mouse to see if a past problem that is similar was addressed on the forum. If you cannot find a topic that addresses your issue, then please feel free to post.
